Being an Oshwal Youth League Committee Member
Oshwal Youth League meetings are held once a month – normally the first Monday of the month. The meetings begin by 8.00pm till about 10.15pm. Oshwal Youth League New Year begins after the Annual General Meeting held whether in (March /or April).
During the first meeting, the new committee brainstorms and come up with a list of projects for the year.
By the second meeting the projects are finalized and committee members are allocated to the projects as conveners and/or co conveners.
During the other monthly meeting, new proposals and follow up on ongoing projects are discussed.
By taking on a project and depending on the nature of the project the individual enhances his/her skills in various areas. These are skill such as communication, teamwork, negotiation, persuasion, problem solving, leadership, organization, confidence, perseverance, motivation and ability to work under pressure.
Each convener will then begin working on his or her project by coming up with a Proposal that includes the description of the project, its benefit or purpose and the budgets for the same which will be approved at the monthly meeting. Although the convener(s) is responsible for ensuring the project is successful, the other members do play a role in assisting as and where needed.
Being a member of Oshwal Youth League is on voluntarily bases, yet one’s commitment and willingness is very important.
The activities and projects play key role in grooming the youth for a better future. It lays a strong foundation with the lessons learnt and skill acquired whilst a perfect opportunity to serve the community but one will never know how much fun being part of Oshwal Youth League is unless you will take up the challenge to be part of the next committee.
